The tale begins in 1500 when Giovan Battista Giulianini from Milan, knight of the arms, was sent by De\u2019 Medici\u2019s family to a border land between Romagna and Tuscany, where Cosimo I De\u2019 Medici founded the fortified town Heliopolis to defend the border between the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the Papal State.<\/p>\n

In the 18th century, part of the Giulianini family retired to the countryside surrounding Villa Rovere, and already at that time, evidence exists of a small production of della Rovere wines, as can be seen from the menu in the book “Dall’Osteria al Ristorante – dal 700 al Nuovo Millennio” written by Michelin-starred sommelier Gianfranco Bolognesi, where, at the inaugural banquet of the monument to Morgagni on May 27th, 1875, delicacies were served accompanied by excellent champagne and a “della Rovere” wine.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tenuta Villa Rovere is a winery born a few years ago but that is growing thanks to the passion of a family linked to the territory and its excellence. Tradition but also innovation thanks to the countercultural choice to focus on international grapes such as cabernet, sauvignon, merlot and syrah.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Tito 2020, a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sangiovese, awarded as part of the Merano Winehunter, is the spearhead of a production that was born in 2020 with the new winery wanted by Alessandro Annibali with his son Tito to have maximum control of the entire process of transformation of the grapes, which are strictly hand-picked. Caucasian 500-liter Seguin Moreau tonneaux are used to age part of the Nan\u00ec, pure Sauvignon Blanc, and to age the Pirro, 100% Merlot. Large 2,000-liter barrels and 228-liter Barriques for the long aging of Tito, which needs at least 2 years of aging to soften the firm Cabernet tannins and to enhance the aromas derived from the Merlot and Sangiovese present in small quantities. Giul\u00ec, pure syrah, and Olindo, Sangiovese DOC Superiore, will be joined in two years by the new Sangiovese Riserva project under Predappio area.\u00a0\u00a0All the wines, made from hand-picked grapes, are dedicated to a member of the family, to connote the brand identity and the link with the territory.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
